    What is the difference between a fifth of alcohol and a liter of alcohol? ?

    What one is bigger and why is a fifth called a fifth?

    2 cups are in a pint. i'm pretty sure 2 pints is a liter, and a liter is a fourth of a gallon. and i think that a fifth is a fifth of a gallon and thats prolly the reason why its called a fifth. so a liter is more than a fifth by a little.

    ...i'm not postive thats right, but a friend of mine explained it to me the other night.
