I have heard some christians say there are 360, but a Hindu friend of mine, from India, says they have one God. Who is confused here, and why? Why do they have different opinions on this?

One. Hindus look at their "gods" like Christians do the Trinity. The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are all One God. In Hinduism, all their "gods" are actually incarnations of the One God they call Brahman.
The basic belief of God in hinduism is that God is One but has appeared to humankind in many forms. The Vedic information states there were 330 Million Forms or Avatars of the one Same God. I'm a hindu myself and believe in One God and his many avatars. Actually, everybody is confused because they don't have correct knowledge.
