Comcast promises me 12 megabits a second but speed test shows 7megabits per second however ever website I download from never go above 700kb a second. I heard in asia things are super fast when it comes to downloading.

It may be website problem...You try downloading in other sources...If the same problem occurs,You can call the service provider and get the help.You cannot get the advertised speed always....Some difference in speed..But in your case there is some problem in connection....Call your ISP...Check the speed once at Scanmyspeed.com
