My keys are locked in the car, all the doors and the trunk are locked and we need a way in to get to Grandma's! Any tips?
It's a volvo if that helps at all, and the car is on.
Forget about a slim jim, Volvo's (like most GM vehicles) made after around 1985 or so have a bar welded inside the door frame that covers the locking mechanism and linkage as a theft deterrent. Little bit of a double edged sword and I know it's probably not what you wanted to hear! Your best bet is to take a flat screwdriver and try to gently wedge it in between the door seal and the car frame to pry the door open far enough to get a coat hangar inside as the other poster said and try to push the door unlock button. Other than that there's not a whole lot you can do. Sorry, I feel your pain, been there...done that...a couple times!
