Question about PS3, Hi Definition, and HDMI Cables?

I'm new to this so here's the scoop. I'm getting a PS3 and I have a regular TV (No LCD or Plasma). If I have an HDMI cable will it make up for the LCD when I have a regular TV? Does LCD need an HDMI cable? Any extra info would help!
 
your confused a hdmi cable is needed for full hd a regular tv will work fine but you wont need a hdmi cable as it wont connect to your tv and lcd is a type of tv as is plasma if you had a hd or hd ready tv (hd means full high def, hd ready means half hd) then you could use a hdmi cable and play games in hd hope this helps...any other questions add it
