Surround sount home theater system?????????????????????

Durabrand model HT-3917.....I would like to know if there is a way that I could be watching normal tv and listen to the surround sound? And if that is possible how do I connect it????
no what i mean is that i want to listen to the movies like in surround sound????????
 
You will have the TV on, obviously, and have a music source plugged in to your receiver. Select the source on the receiver that the music is plugged into.

Example- Plug your DVD/CD player into video 1, select video 1 on the front of the HT receiver. That will play music through your HT speakers. Then watch your TV.
