I have a 2001 Ford Escape XLT 3.0. When I start it up in the morning before I go to work, it will start up but you have to keep on giving it gas so it won't stall. it also has a delayed action when you accelerate for the first couple times. I had already changed the spark plugs, which helped alot, but it still has the same problem but not as bad. My dad tells me its the choke, but I dont think the escape uses a choke. Can anyone help me out and tell me whats going on?

it could be the throttle position sensor or the idle air control sensor. if it,s got a carburetor then it has a choke but it.s probably fuel injected. it also could be the gas filter dirty.
