I've stayed away from the web for almost a month, hoping for some change, and I got nothing. Kids are overtaking websites with their minimal knowledge upon the insights of life, and have no control over their own mentality-spamming things, gossiping about their favorite nonsense, posting smiley faces, speaking in the usual online slangs of LOL and and such...

And here I was, thinking it was all something of a Legend.

I know you might say something in response, in your own words-or maybe not. Perhaps you may post something that tries to make a point, wether stupid or not, so that others may appeal unto it. But truth to be told, we're not here on the internet for the bettering of all.

(I've consumed too much Nyquil....)

Like humans, the internet will evolve into a "needed" thing one day. People will then have shorter words for everything like LOL= Laugh out loud.

I'm 14. You might say I'm a kid. I have some knowledge upon the insights of life, I don't like spammers, I don't gossip, I rarely use smiley faces, and I never use online slang such as LOL etc.

Is this a stupid point or not? Was that a stupid question or not? What answers did you expect to get from posting this on the internet if you've wanted serious answers?

After all, us kids'll just gossip about our own lives and such...

Their lack of spelling and grammar has killed my hope for the future.

I no longer recycle because I don't want to leave these ignorant little ego puddles with a world that might make them think I approve.

Chew and eat your fill of this world, the next generation doesn't have much of a future as it is, so why let them linger?

"Due to the popularity of contraceptive among those with IQs above 100 coupled with the popularity of child birth below that same number; by 2060 we can expect intellegence to have been bred out of the human race. The current state of internet message boards is all the proof I need of this trend."
-Anthropology 302: Human Social Evolution Lecture

Addendum: Proof reading a book report for my 14 year old cousin was the most tragic moment of my life. I had, before that moment, assumed that the horrible internet slang had been contined to the neubulous energy field of the net. I wept the cold, bitter tears of the betrayed that day.

Yes I think you have.
Go to bed and sleep it off.
You'll feel better in the morning.

BTW, I'm no kid!

LOL

Don't tell me you're one of them people who assume everyone who is a teenager/kid etc. does this. Sure, most do, and it's annoying, but not all of them. You've got to accept that technology changes, and so does the things we do with it. I'm not saying using grammer and not using slang is the dark ages or old, it's just people find new ways of using it, and it seems mostly teenagers prefer to use it because it's easier.

I'm 16 LOL :D visit my facebook page yeh.

As if!

The Internet is for EVERYONE. The contact with others, the chats, the movies/videos, the history, the Adolescent children with their smilies, the porn, the news, the gossip, the images, the mail, the shopping, the creativity, the recipes, the art, the Q&A, the weather, the adds, the spam, the infections (virus), ect.
It is tool to help each indavidual find the information and/or research needed, to stay in touch, to create new aquantances, to rob...... or just to plane browse time away for our own boring desires and needs.

The internet is just another form of communications. As such it serves many purposes. It can be used to discuss and try to discovered the meaning of life but, it can also be used to talk about less meaningful things like how cute that girl in history class is. I mean meaningless to most people since we are not in the same course. Anyways, is all about communicating.

This reminds me of a time when I was with some friends. We where not agreeing on some music. The thing was that my friend only like respectable music. By this I mean music done by very good artist that would normally win a price for their artistic value and quality. i say that's great and I understand that. However, even though a lot of the music I listen to is not award winning by any stretch of the imagination, to me it is still worth listening to. Why? because it entertains me. That's a good enough reason for me. Yes, I know the song sucks artistically, and yes it can be vulgar at times but, not everyday do I feel like listening to Mozart. The opposite is also true. Each thing has its time and place. The internet is no different. I use the internet for many things like communicating with friends and family, to do research for school and work, for entertainment, for the news etc etc. I think that the reason you see people act and behave in a certain way is because you go to the same places over and over again. That's the culture in that particular place. If for example you go to a religious forum well, don't expect people there to be talking about porn. Plus is it fair or even realistic to expect others to change to meet your standards?
