What is the condition of you cables? Did you clean your connection points as to where the alternator mounts? Are the cables to the battery tight? Do you have a good ground ie. motor to chassis?
Will the car start and run if so take it to a Auto parts store and have them check it out this is a free service.
Its possible that the battery is no good even though its new. It's also possible that the alternator might not be good even if new.
