How long should I let my 1973 VW Beetle warm up on a cold morning?

It seems to hesitent in the mornings but in a warm afternoon it runs fine.

    Just had carb rebuilt.

2 to 3 minutes is good for any car. If you are having hesitation problems when cold I would try adjusting the carb.

I only let my '69 Volvo run for as long as takes me to put on the seatbelt and stick a CD in the deck. If it's not able to drive after a minute or two at the most, then something needs adjusted, either the carb or the timing. It's not really a good idea to let a car idle for ages on choke, it's much better to get going ASAP. (Wastes less petrol, too!)
