Just got into a car crash, trashed the front bumper as well as engine bay damage. funny thing is that i just purchased a aftermarket bumper. what should i do if i want to have the insurance use my part but still have them paint it with insurance coverage. btw in at fault. will they use my bumper and deduct the cost of buying a new bumper?

I say collect your costs tell them and then give them all of your reciets and then take it to the repair place. It will save them the money of buying new parts. Also my friend was in a wreck like this and did the same thing as that. It looks better than before.

I believe that you should file a claim with the insurance company along with the required number of estimates for the repairs. They will go with the lowest, reputable shop. I think that you can request direct payment for the allowed amount and then you can have the work done anywhere you like and just pay the difference.

The insurance company should write YOU a check for the entire damage and repair estimate. What you do with the money is entirely your business. Fix the car yourself, pay someone to fix, use your own parts to fix it, sell it and buy another or simply don't fix it at all.
