Why does my cat scream when using the litter box?

18 month old female cat, spayed, only cat. She has recently started screaming while using the litter and occasionally when sitting in front of the litter box. She drinks plenty of water and is fed both dry and wet food (Nutro Natural Choice) due to previous constipation issues. She's an indoor only cat and other than the screaming is acting normal. I've looked on the internet and haven't been able to come up with much of an answer.

Cats are well known for their likelihood to get urinary tract infections.

She either is constipated or has a UTI! Shes crying cause she is in pain and needs to see the vet.

Are there any cuts near her belly or elsewhere. Does she have allergic reaction spots on her belly or privates? I'd say, see a vet, she may have a kidney stone or may have eaten something that is caught somewhere in her digestive tract.
