why do christians love "Lord of the Rings", but hate "Spiderwick" and "Harry...

...Potter", etc? my "christian family members" really confuse me ... Chronicles of Narnia, Lord of the Rings, Wizard of Oz, Sleeping Beauty, etc are okay

but Spiderwick, The Golden Compass, Harry Potter, etc, etc, are not okay

to me they all seem the same ... witches, wizards, faiies, elves, dwarf folk, ec, etc

i mean alot of the stuff in "Lord of the Rings" i found really scary and creepy

ohh and then the "LOTR" videogame is doing beter than WoW.. i suspect because christians are switching to the WoW clone

It's probably because Narnia and Lord of the Rings have Christian undertones; Wizard of Oz and Sleeping Beauty are just classics that everyone loves (even though yes, I do recognize that they contain elements of the Occult in them).
But Harry Potter, Spiderwick Chronicles and the Golden Compass have no Christian undertones, and Harry Potter is pretty much shameless, in-your-face Occultism.
