Problems with gig chip in mp4 player need help now!?

i downloaded a couple songs onto my mp4 player and that is regular space already in the mp4 player but the computer doesnt seem to realize i have the 4 gig memory chip in there. what do i do?!?!?!?!
i did nothing happens
