What is the best birth control pill to take?

I think I might have severe PMS which is PMDD.. I want to get on birth control for obvious reasons plus to lessen my periods and blood flow, get rid of bad cramps and to get rid of PMS/PMDD.

I also want to make sure that the pill doesnt make me gain weight/ lose weight or to change my personality.

any ideas? advice?
