How can I check my cell's voicemail, from another phone?

How can I check my At&t cell phone's voicemail, from another cell phone provider or a land line? with verizon, I used to just enter my password when it went to voicemail, but with att doesn't work that way... any sudgestions?

You can check message from any phone. You need to call your number and when you hear the voice mail recording press star *, then you will only need to enter your password and after that you will be able to listen to your messages.
