I am a straight man, but I have observed this many times.

One gay man I know goes out of his way to make my mother happy and comfortable, way beyond what my father ever did, and yet there is no doubt he is gay, and extrovertly so. I once went out with a girl with a male gay couple friends, who were amusing and always involved her in their antics. When someone reported the Queen's equerry was gay, I was not at all surprised, and actually felt it was an asset.

If it weren't for the sex, a gay man would make an ideal husband!

Lesbians however I find treat me as if I were a leper and have no right to exist, simply because I am male. The best I can hope for is a sort of peaceful co-existance.

Can anyone throw any light?
