I haven't read the gossip girl series, but ive seen the 1st season of the show so im familiar with the characters, so will the "it girl" series make sense, and if so will it ruin anything from gossip girl for me?

it gives away something that happens in the gossip girl books to jenny but i dont think/not sure if it will happen in the tv show
