I find myself in 'damned if I do, damned if I don't' situations. Mental illness is involved in my connections though we do our best. We make minor mistakes and then find it hard to forgive on both ends. I just want us to be friends again but even though there's an elephant in the room that we don't dare to talk about (our past happiness), we find it wrong to totally part even in the present-day tension of the memories of unkind words that shattered us. I think about her daily and it's the least I can do to keep talking to her but our relationship has gotten so mediocre. I want closure. What do I do?
