Burning data files onto a DVD-R disc but not viewable on DVD Player?

Hi there

I have a load of video files (MPEGs) i want to burn to a DVD-R blank disc and when i do burn them and have them on disc they will not play on my DVD Player. This is strange because when i burn the same files onto a CD-R it plays on the DVD player. Does anyone know why i am unable to view this DVD-R the same way i can view the CD-R full of files?

Is it something to do with the fact that a DVD-R has to be formatted in a certain way for a DVD player to correctly read it and this is more easily done with CD-Rs?

it willll convert your video files and burn them to dvd-r ;\with any luck, your videos should play on your home dvd player.
