Annoying people?

I took my little kitten to the vet today to get his shot and people were acting like they had never seen a cat in their life beofre..everyone was waching like i had a gun.some stupid kid was making weird sounds when my cat was meowing, he really wanted to get out of the cage and the boy thought it was funny and kept making more noises..some alcoholic man tried to talk to me but i did not understand a word that came from his mouth...why are people like this? specially the old people, they just kept looking and were talking to the kitten
