Net10 Motorola Prepaid Cellular Phone Texting?

This is the phone im going to get, and it comes with 300minutes put on. So does that take 1 off every text i send??

i have a net10 phone. and whenever i text it takes away almosy 3 minutes! i do not think that it is supposed to. help?
