Lawrence Taylor reportedly arrested on suspicion of DUI

Lawrence Taylor (AP) Lawrence Taylor, whose brilliance on the football field was always accompanied by issues off the field, was arrested in Florida on Friday under suspicion of driving under the influence, the Palm Beach Post reported.
Sgt. Mark Wysocky, spokesman for Florida Highway Patrol, told the Palm Beach Post that Taylor was arrested after a crash on Florida’s Turnpike. WPTV NewsChannel 5 reported that at 5:20 p.m. Taylor’s Bentley hit a motor home and side swiped a patrol vehicle when he was switching lanes. No injuries were reported by WPTV said Taylor was taken to Palm Beach County Jail.
Taylor was a superstar and a Hall of Fame linebacker for the New York Giants from 1981-93. He is considered by many to be the greatest defensive player in NFL history, but battled alcohol and drug use during his career and has spent time at various rehabilitation facilities over his addiction. He also had legal trouble, including pleading guilty in 2011 to sexual misconduct and patronizing a prostitute.
