    blu-ray hd-dvd?

    I have a new sony Vaio and it has a blu-ray drive on it I want to know if I can play hd-dvds on it can someone help

    the data depth and track pitch of blu-ray and HD-DVD discs are not compatible and the laser aperture of one drive does not match the other. There are combo drives available but are very rare.
    Toshiba was a manufacturer of standalone players that supported both, but as far as for PC drives I couldn't really say.

    No it can't, HD-DVD's are no longer made, it's deprecated.
