So I accidentally spilled some soda all over the screen and keyboard. I started drying it off (foolishly, I am now aware) without shutting the laptop off. I started drying the drops off from the screen and I realized that there were now vertical, coloured lines in the right corner of my screen. Naturally, I panicked and did whatever any other member of the 21st century would do: googled it. The results said that it is of utmost importance to shut off the computer and disconnect the battery as soon as the spill occurs. Hurriedly, I did this, although it did take some time to remove the battery. I let it dry (upside down) for about 8 hours, but it doesn't seem to have helped. I'm really not sure of my insurance, and I really don't want to cough up the cash to get a professional to look at it. Hopefully one of you Yahooers has an effective solution.

Thanks
