How to burn a dvd with a downloaded file?

I got a DVD-RW drive on my comp but have never used it. Could someone please explain how I go about burning a downloaded file onto a dvd? And do I need to buy/download any software? Please give as detailed and informational answers as possible.

well it all depends on your "file"

If the file is an .iso which of course im assuming it is. Then you'll need a iso burning software like power iso, or demon tool. Once downloaded it has an burn image option. Just click it select your dvd and your iso file

Now on the off chance your trying to put an an ordinary windows file (or none image file). Then all you have to do is but in your dvd. I should ask if you want to treat this dvd like an USB, you select that option then drag and drop the file onto the DVD

Any more questions just email me
