If you have enough money to buy a porsche 911 would you buy a manual or automatic?

I wouldn't buy one at all because it's just an overgrown VW Beetle, I can think of much better things to spend that sort of money on, and a lot of better models of car too.

There's something badly flawed in the design of a car if it needs its suspension and brakes controlled by a computer to stop it from spinning out and killing you if you hit the brakes. Putting the engine in the back is a stupid idea.

Manual

1. More fun to drive.
2. Cheaper to replace
3. Much more reliable
4. Lighter weight means the car handles better. The difference is extremely minute, but it is still there.
5. Freedom of choice-How high or low you want rpms to go before shifting.

I used to think that I'd only buy a manual, but with stop and go traffic and the new autos being so good, I'd go with an auto for my next one likely. Manuals are fun, but they can be a pain.

Depends on if it's a daily driver or just a "for fun" car only.

I have owned several 911's over that past 40+ years. I had a strong opinion God intended ALL 911's to have a clutch pedal on the floor. Until my neighbor let me drive his 997 equipped with PDK a few years ago. My current 2012 (991) Carrera S with PDK is a glorious thing, especially in today's heavily congested, stop & go, city driving conditions. I can honestly say I don't miss rowing my own gears at all.

If the notion of an automatic transmission in sports car strikes you as acceptable, you should probably just stick to your Prius.

Automatic Pearl White 911 Turbo S Cabriolet.

Why? Yeah most claim to love manual more because its more fun, and maybe you might get a little bit more gas mileage. Its whatever you like more I guess. Its like saying whats better... Apples or Oranges?

Automatic for me simply because its already a fast car, I shouldnt have to worry about destroying my expensive new gearbox by messing up gear shifts hear and there(everybody does it sometimes).
Besides, I think driving fast and slowing down in traffic is easier with automatic transmissions.
