    do I have to buy a new tv if it doesn't hve a connecter for my home theatre system?

    do I need to purchase a new TV to connect my home theatre system to the TV or is there an adapter of some sort that I can purchase to connect the optical cable that I already have for the home theatre system to the TV since it does not have one. So all in all I already have a optical cord that has a connecter on the home theatre system but the TV has no place to connect it to..plz help I really don't want to purchase a new one..Thanks for any info that I can be given to listen to my regular TV through my surround sound

    I'm not sure but i would check with radio shack or hhgregg to find out

    I don't know what type of TV you have, but if you have a stereo system tuner amp with optical "In" you can use that as your main audio source for the home theater system. There's other ways to have nice sound coming from TV. You don't really need all those speakers.
