I'm going to see the Colorado Avalanche take on the Columbus Blue Jackets next month and I was wondering how can I meet some players from Colorado as well as Columbus, this is my first nhl game and I'm pumped.

Try finding out where the Blue Jackets have their "morning skate / practise".
That is your best chance. As for meeting Avs players it will be rather difficult.
