Buy a psp or forget about it?

I heard they have some good games like corpse party, god of war, kingdom hearts, and many more. I also heard you can go on the Internet with it also . Yet I'm not sure if I should get it or not because I don't have a ps3, I have a xbox and I'm not sure if you have to register it to ur ps3 or anything about it. I also seen on the web that it is beating the ps vita in sales so it has to be somewhat good right?
