When Christ died on the cross, everything went dark! I'm guessing it was a lunar event where the moon went over the sun, if we could calculate how many lunar events there are and we how many are seen from Jerusalem could we go back in time and figure out the date he died?

I know im speculating allot!

Not a lunar event - lunar eclipses occur during the new moon, the passover is always during a full moon. The cause of the darkness was not described, because we can rule out a lunar eclipse the next best candidates would be cloud cover or dust storm.

We know the date he died; he died on Friday Nisan 14 in the year 33 CE.

It wasn't a solar eclipse because it lasted 3 hours and no eclipse lasts that long, it was obviously an supernatural event (miracle).
