how much of the money donated on "American Idol Gives Back" actually goes to charity?

I heard Ryan Seacrest mention that they are giving the "net proceeds" of the money to charity. In Hollywood accounting practices, that could mean whatever they want it to mean, and it usually means everyone else gets a chunk of the money before it actually becomes "net proceeds". Does anybody know? Who audits this?
