What are some good performance mods for the Mitsubishi/Chrysler 3.0?

I have a 1994 Plymouth van with a Chrysler/Mitsubishi 3.0l v6. It needs to be rebuilt anyway. I'm not made of money, but I don't have a lot of expenses right now, so I can blow a bit of cash on this wagon. That engine may have the power to carry mommy and 6 kids down the highway at 65, but I wanna be able to hit the track with it. I've heard of people tweaking these 3.0's and getting incredible performance out of them, but I've never gone through a motor completely before, so I don't know what all I can do with it.

What are some good mods I can do/ performance parts I can use when I rebuild it?
