    Watch movie, xvid codec?

I want to watch a movie online but every link is to a page where the message is: Download and Install the Xvid Codec. The video won't play it only says "Buffering" in the back. I have tried playing around with downloading the codecs and using a VLC player but I really have no idea what I am doing. All I know is that I don't want to download the movie. Also on the page I get a message on the top saying i am missing plugins but when I click to install the plugins after a restart nothing has changed and the movie still doesn't play,(PS I use Mozilla Firefox). So can I play this video?

Video codecs are not part of the browser , they are added to other codecs part of Direct X.
Beware of those links asking you to go download anything, you could be installing spyware or adware.
With all due respect, I suppose you have adobe flash player 11.2 installed which plays the favorite video format in the web. xvid is unusual in the web, its more common in DVD player decks.
If you don't want to download the movie, try with Internet Explorer 9, and download all the video codecs from http://support.microsoft.com/
