That the ring we're talking about? Well if it is, the volcanoes, are constantly erupting in different spots causing catastrophic damage like earthquakes, tidal waves, lava flows. Great difficulties fori people living in nearby towns, houses, etc. Big problems, in other words. Now can you imagine how a life could be described as having intermittent catastrophic damage too?
