Hello, I own a 1994 BMW 325IS 5 Spd. Engine blew..?

I was wondering what other complete engine would work for my car with Improved HP and performance. If replaceing the stock motor Is really the only thing I can do can anyone refer me to a salvage yard or something like that. I live In Westchester county NY near the Bronx.. Thanks
