Verizon Fios Internet running slow and turning off randomly?

Today I noticed my internet has been going bad and I'm not sure if I can handle it. Earlier in the morning I did a speedtest and it was 18mbps down and 17mbps sec up and now it's down to around 2-5mbps down and 2mbps up and it's disconnecting randomly. It's driving me crazy and I have verizon. Any suggestions on what do?

Depends- when is it exactly slow? is it while surfing the internet, or when running programs?Slow internet happens for various reasons.The most effective method for speeding up a comp where possible is just format the hard disk. Also check to see if you have any useless programs. Uninstall them. Run disk cleanup. Check to see what you have in your temp. Generally have a clear up of your hard disk.If your internet is slow, you should scan your computer for viruses and spyware using suitable programs(for example- avast anti virus or spybot).
