If I sync a new iphone to my current itunes will all the songs from itunes transfer

to my iphone? im expecting to get my new iphone tomorrow (3gs because its cheap now) and im not sure if all my music from my current itunes library will automatically sync to my iphone. and will i be able to take any songs off of my iphone but not mess with what i want on my ipod? how do i manage each differently if they are on the same itunes library?

sorry for so many questions. im new with this stuff
