P90X Nutrition Guide Question #2?

I'm having issues sorting this Nutrition Guide for P90X out... so I'm just wondering... are you supposed to do each phase for 30 days, and then go on to the next phase, or do you pick a phase and only do that phase for the 90 days? I'm planning to do the meal plan if that makes any difference.

Also, which phase is best for building muscle? I don't need to lose any weight at all, in fact, I need to do the opposite, but the Fat Shredder seems like it would gain the most muscle out of all of the phases due to the amount of protein... would I gain more muscle only doing this phase, or should I do each phase for 30 days?
