How do I copy this DVD to my computer?

We got old family films transferred to a DVD, but I want to make some edits to them on my computer. Is there any way I can copy that DVD to my computer? On a PC or a Mac, or both.

I need it on Mac as a video file so I can edit it with iMovie

u dont need any additional softwares if u wanna copy... just go to my computer > right click on dvd drive> click explore> the folder will open with the files in it> select the file/folder u wanna coppy >right click and select copy/ press Ctrl+C > go to the destination folder of HDD> paste > Ctrl+V
