Need an interesting topic for my research paper! Please help!?

Can anyone help me with topics? I seem to be stuck and I can't think of anything that would be really interesting! It is a huge project for school, and i would be working on it for 3/4 months!

It's for my research methods class, the topic can be on anything!

Can it be kind of like a persuasive paper? If so, you could write it on something you feel strongly about, like vegetarianism, why people should stop purchasing diamonds because of the horrific things that happen to Africans because of it (ever seen the movie Blood Diamond starring Leonardo DiCaprio?), global warming, gay marriage, pro-life, the media and its influences on society, etc etc.
Another option would be to write about a specific period in history that you find fascinating: maybe the Renaissance, or ancient Egyptian times, or the time of the plague, or Biblical times. The key is to find something that you would find enjoyable to research and write about throughout the whole process. It is a long project, so make sure to make a wise topic choice.
