does any body use the word 'gay' to describe things?

i Was just watching the sex ed show on 4od and it said that using the word 'gay' is bullying and offensive to bi and homosexual people.
seriously... my friend is bi and the amount of times that she uses it i don't somehow think hat its that offensive.

i could really care less because i know they are not picturing a gay person when saying that its "gay" that there is a stop sign on a street that is not busy. also, i kind of find it welcoming when someone can say the word gay and not follow it with "people are going to hell!!" i mean really the word "lame" can be taken offensively but most people don't think about it that way either.
