I have got free AVG on my laptop and it detected a virus...something like script something on my C drive..temp internet files (from my memory) AVG allowed me the option to move it to virus vault. I did this and then selected from (memory again!) something like empty vault. Has my virus been removed from my laptop? I didn't put it back, did I??? Cheers!

no you're safe. remember to right click the avg icon in the taskbar and select "update" unless your set to auto update, and never install more than one anti virus prog at a time. anti virus and an anti spyware prog will be ok together tho. lavasoft adaware is good and free. take it easy.

no! hehe i dont think that any antivirus has an option of putting back your virus.. haha. but you know what i would scan again just in case if that was a loader program

remove from the vault means delete, wipe means its will not be in the restore points (gone for ever) heal means your taking off the virus from your infected file

I got AVG for my parents computer and from experience AVG does everything for you once it goes to the vault it cant go back into the laptop. The ones that go to the vault aint highly bad for the comp, its the ones AVG ask you to repair thats the bad ones so don't worry it has not gone bk into ur laptop. hell if my parents can work avg then anyone can (lol)

use nod32 its good software and very powerful prefered by software engineers

If you deleted it from the vault then your safe, One thing I always do is once I find a virus is to leave it in the vault or quarantine for a week or so to be sure the file that is in the vault is not essential to the computer and then if after a week your system still operates good then go ahead and delete it,,once a virus is in the vault it can no longer harm your system;SG

AVG isolates virus in Virus Vault. Here, it can't do any harm. You have the option of emptying virus vault or deleting affected file. (Go to Action). Some times emptying vault does not remove virus fully particularly if it a Trojan Horse type. In that case, check the affected file and if you don't need delete file. After removing virus, always re-run anti-virus programme to be sure that virus is totally removed.Always update your anti-virus programme. whether it is AVG, McAfee or Norton etc.
