Can you put a blue ray drive from a 60GB PS3 onto a 80GB one?

My 60gb ps3's motherboard has broken down, so im gonna buy a 80gb with a damaged blue ray drive and take the working drive from my old ps3. Is there any issues with doing this?

I think you will be ok just be extra careful when handling the electronics and the connectors. Remember not to touch the lens. Also I dont know If you care or not but opening it automatically voids warranty through sony.

id research the type off drive that comes with the ps3 and try to find a duplicate,or put a bigger compatible drive in it,but yeah it should work
