HD DVD is now defunked and blu ray has won , what do you think?

Are you of the opinion that the big boys have made blu ray win because they can charge the consumer more for the discs and players.

As the bluray is much more expensive than hd dvd with very little difference between the two formats.

It's realy no opinion. It's a mere fact. There are many people out there who think that the consumers were the ones who chose Blu-ray over HD-DVD, that's definately the opposite. From the consumer point of veiw HD-DVD was the sh!t. Think about it, I've got 2 high def players to choose from. This HD-DVD player costs me $300 and has all these bells and whistles, but this Blu-ray player over here also has all these bell whistles but it costs $500, so whats so different? nothing, absolutlety nothing, well nothing that makes so much of a difference that it should be $200 more. It was Sony who made some deals with some major movie studios and major store chains; i.e. Best Buy and Walmart to make Toshiba throw in the towel in the high def war. When you got money like Sony does, you can make anything happen. Big corps like Sony will charge more sometimes for things that do the same thing as another big corp but because it has a "Sony" branding on it then it should cost you $200 more. I may love my PS3 and all but this was just another way for big corps like Sony to go ahead and make people pay more so they get more money in the end. It's smart, but it's costing everyone who will now go buy a Blu-ray player a lot more than they bargained for.

Many people said that because the porn industry went with hd dvd that that would make blu ray automatically lose...

Disks costs about the same - I have a PS3 so am happy myself.

Microsoft xbox 360 used HD, and Tochiba and Samsung, so big boys were on both sides anyway.
