Enrolling my son in a karate class for 2-4 year olds.

What can I expect from this class?

What should the uniform be?

Do I need to start looking for a white suit? If so, where would I get one?
Marketing genius? This class is two days/week for $20/month...I dont think they are making a whole lot of money on that one.

My town is limited on activities for smaller children. This is the only thing I can find for his age group. He will not be fighting other children. He will be learning basic discipline (which he needs) I did not ask this question to get rude answers...I asked it because I know nothing of karate or any martial art for that matter and was hoping for some honest responses. So thank you to the first 3 posters for ruining this for me.

Talk to the instructor about getting a gi (that's the uniform). He no doubt sells them.

It's your money, but I would not enroll a kid that young in karate. I teach the occassional 4 year old and I call them my "Groundhog Day" kids because every class seems like they've never done karate before. I didn't start my own daughter until she was 6 and she didn't start "getting it" until she was about 10 or 11.

If you really want your son to do something fun and physical, try tumbling classes.

Who's he gonna fight? lol....teddy bears?
He should start a karate class when he's at least 8 or 9
What should you expect?
Well you can't expect him to be a fighter, he wont even have strenght to punch someone, no seriously, he's waaaay too young for karate

i would think the martial arts school would provide of uniform if not just look up on Google "Martial art supply" and you can find uniforms for your child. It would probably be fun classes with your child in the school i go to they teach forms and have fun with the kids

Can 2 year olds even do karate? haha my guess is it would be a smaller version of a karate uniform. get one online!
