Many people have been telling me that Microsoft is going to make Xbox live free to compute with PS3, but ihave not found any ligit proof from Microsoft, can anyone help me get this straight ?
I have heard many rumours about xboxlive becoming free in 2010 ?

Yep, Microsoft officially announced that Xbox Live will become free sometime in first quarter 2010. Anyone who recently signed up for a 1 year gold membership will be refunded.

That's a lie, microsoft will NEVER give you a refund, if you bought a 1 year you are S.O.L. and as for it being free, uh, some guy telling you over a forum isnt exactly as legit as it may seem... -.- just wait till microsoft announces it OFFICIALLY and dont buy membership.

im guessing that microsoft would somehow transfer the money you spent on xbox live into the account that you bought games/microsoft points with

I just plugged into the internet and I have free xbox live (silver membership)...it's apparently going to cost me to upgrade to Gold but silver is definately free.

Xbox Live will never be free
Xbox live make so much money from members, why would they make it free? Despite PS3 and Wii having free online, there are still more members on xbox live. Why would xbox want to give up money when everyone is so happy to pay them. If there were as many xbox live members as there are wii members, I think then xbox live would have to become free because of the lack of profit.

And now its June and we have no free xbox live gold. This is bull that microsoft are making it free, Bill Gates wants to make as much profit as possible and xbox live brings him a hell of a lot of money. So sorry guys it aint gunna happen.
