How to install OpenLaszlo 4.4.0.tar.gz on Ubuntu Linux ?

Hi
I'm still new to Ubuntu and until now I don't know how to install .tar.gz files . I have read a punch of documentations on that subject but sadly, nothing worked out .

Now I'm trying to install OpenLaszlo 4.4.0.tar.gz on Ubuntu Linux, and I could just extract it whether from the Terminal or by the Package Manager . So could anyone please tell me the easiest and best way to install it ? and by the way .

When I extract that OpenLaszlo-4.4.0-unix.tar.gz file . I get a lps.4.4.0 folder which contains some files . I tried to search to something called configure, but nothing found . So please I need your help .

The use of the Terminal in most cases is not needed as Ubuntu has the Synaptic Package Manager which allows you to easily install and remove software

To install individually downloaded deb. files then Ubuntu has the GDebi Package Installer (already built in to Ubuntu) which automatically starts up when you try to open a deb.file

tar.gz and tar.bz2 files are the last resort as it means compiling from source (not recommended for new users)
