whats the different between a dvd player and a blueray player?

A blu-ray player supports true High-definition video, also often called 1080p (the p is for "progressive").

A DVD player isn't actually HD, but because of a feature called "upconvert", they are adjusted to support HD and look very good, but not as crisp as a Blu-ray on an HD tv.

A blu-ray player or other HD device is highly recommended for an HD tv.

Blueray plays better pictures and only play blueray dvds and the normal dvd player well there picture is okay but bluerays is betters.

A single DVD holds roughly 4.7 GB of data, A Blu-Ray disc holds 50 GB of data.

Another difference is that on DVD, you would have to press the menu button to interrupt the movie that was playing to reach the main menu.
On Blu-Ray, it has a pop-up menu that appears on the bottom of the screen. This allows the movie to continue playing while you search through the menu.

One more difference is the laser. DVD uses red laser, Blu-Ray discs use a purple-blue laser.
