How to cancel an Orange contract phone?

I would like to cancel my contract on Orange, and have inquired about it with friends and have looked on the Orange website. But I just wanted a bit more info. Supposedly you can only do it 10 days before you are billed?
And you get charged for 1 extra month or something?
Is this true, could anyone clarify?

Usually you can't come out of the contract until it expire.you have to put forward a request to your SP and terminating contract will end up in contract termination fee.. Instead you can simply change carrier by unlocking your phone from any vendors online like UnBBlock.com for most of the blackberry phones and Simpleunlocking.com for other model phones
